Faculty
Dr.D.P.Basti is Professor and Head in the Department of Mathematics at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. He obtained his bachelor of Science from Karnataka University, Dharwad. Master degree in Mathematics from Karnatak University, Dharwad. Ph.D from Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka. Presently guiding 02 of Ph.D students at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka and Guided 01 Ph.D student. Conducted 02 workshop on “Hands on Image Processing & Fuzzy Logic Applications” and “MS-Excel Applications in Financial Mathematics (MSAFM)”. He published papers at 03 National and 07 International Journals and Prsented 04 Research Papers in conferences.
Dr. Jenifer J. Karnel is an Associate Professor in the department of Mathematics at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. She obtained her bachelor of Science from Arts and Science college, Karwar ( Karnatak University ). Master degree in Mathematics from Department of Mathematics, Karnatak University, Dharwad. Ph.D from Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. Guiding 3 Ph.D students at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka. Conducted 2 workshops . Published 7 no. of papers at International Journal and 2 at conferences.
Dr. Shailaja S. Shirkol is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. She obtained her bachelor of Science from Karnatak College, Dharwad. Master degree in Mathematics from Karnatak University, Dharwad. Ph.D from Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka. Presently guiding six no. of Ph.D students at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka and Guided one Ph.D. students. Conducted one workshop on Image processing and Machine learning based on Mathematical modelling. She was awarded with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from UGC, New Delhi under the Research Fellowship in Sciences for Meritorious Students (RFSMS) for doctorate program. She published fifteen research papers at National / International Journals and two at conferences. She is life member of Ramanujan Mathematical Society, Life member of Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications and Life member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG).
Prof.Preeti B. Jinagouda is an Lectuer in the Department of Mathematics at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. She obtained her bachelor of Science from Karnatak College, Dharwad. Master degree in Mathematics from Karnatak University, Dharwad. She is life member of Ramanujan Mathematical Society, Life member of Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications.
Prof . Varsha Joshi is a Lecturer in the department of Mathematics at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. She obtained her bachelor of Science from Karnataka Arts and Science college, Dharwad ( Karnatak University ). Master degree in Mathematics from Department of Mathematics ,Karnatak University, Dharwad. Pursuing Ph.D from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka . Conducted 1 workshops . Published 1 paper at International Journal.
Mr.Basavaraj Hoogar is an Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) from Karnatak University, Dharwad. Master degree (M.Sc) in Mathematics from Karnatak University, Dharwad, India . Persuing Ph.D at Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. He published 02 papers in the International Journals and Presented 05 Research Papers in conferences.
Program Outcome (POs)
- PO 1. Engineering knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- PO 2. Problem analysis : Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
- PO 3. Design/development of solutions : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- PO 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
